Cellulite Review: Bye Bye Cellulite! Part 2 – Home Routine
This is the second part of our cellulite review. Its a daily routine, using products I have found to be effective – and below is a secret step by step guide!
THE ROUTINE!
STEP 1 – Dry body brush before you shower
Dry body brush (BEST STEP)
Dry bodying brushing is our most tried and trusted step. If you don’t do anything else you have to do this! We like the Elemis brush as it is both long (for your back) and the handle comes off making it great for really working on your thighs. This not only impacts light cellulite but also impacts deeper more stubborn cellulite. This step definitely has a long term impact as well a multitude of other benefits for your health (detox, exfoliation etc). We love this so much that I have done a post on Dry Body Brushing – the how to and the amazing benefits! The key is long brush strokes towards your beautiful heart.
STEP 2 – Cellulite massager
After dry brushing jump in the shower. Before you come our put soap over any parts of the body with cellulite and massage over that area with a cellulite massager. They stimulate the skin – making it go slightly pink. This helps with the skins ability to absorb the products that follow. Finish with cold water to boost circulation.
1. Clarins Multi-Mass
Our favorite is the Clarins multi-mass massager. Its simply AMAZINGGG!
2. Bliss Fatgirlslimulator
This is a nice product that is gentle on your body and easy to use.
3. Sephora Anti-Cellulite Massager
Another good product, its harder to use than the Bliss massager, but it gives a slight deeper massage.
STEP 3. Apply your Cellulite Oil or Creams
With any topical treatment you will see a result on lighter cellulite, so for example the front of your thigh, but it will take longer to see a result on stubborn cellulite. I have found that for me, cellulite oils work much better in the long run and I found real results with them. However I know that some of our readers prefer a cream texture which has worked for me on areas with light cellulite – and so I have included creams as well. However you decide to tackle cellulite – it needs a really daily commitment. So keep at it!
Creams
1. Bliss Fatgirlslim
This has a lovely light texture with a fresh minty smell and you feel slightly tingly after application. The key ingredient is “QuSome®-encapsulated caffeine”. It says to “massage into the body twice a day for 20 to 30 seconds”. I found that I saw immediate results on light cellulite but on the tougher areas there wasn’t much impact.
2. Lierac Body Slim
This has a thick creamy consistency and smells like peach ice tea and you feel slightly tingly after application. The ingredients are made up of a triple-action body-contouring formula. It says to massage “once or twice daily and you will see results in 14 days”. Again I found that I saw results on light cellulite but little impact on the heavier cellulite.
Oils
3. Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil “Firming/Toning”
This is an oil I have been using since I was young. It is simply amazing. Great for toning and firming the skin. I massage it into the problem areas after my shower. And I will dry brush over it again – to really help it work. This is the secret step that I discovered and it really fast tracks my skin firming and having a smooth appearance. Then I’m back in the shower for a cold rinse. The oil smells wonderful is made 100% of plant extracts – the ingredients include rosemary, geranium and mint. It helps with cellulite, stretch marks, water retention and general appearance of my skin. It is a must in your bathroom.
4. Elemis Cellutox Active Body Oil
Another oil I have been using for years. It is just great for any water retention, combating cellulite, deeply detoxifying and of course conditioning the skin. Once again I put it on after my shower – and go over it again with the dry brush, before a final cold rinse in the shower. The oil is made 100% of plant extracts – the ingredients include sea-buckthorn, sea fennel, lemon and juniper. Just a great product.
RECAP: Secret Step by step when using oils!
Here is a secret that has worked WONDERS!!! But your body has to have become used to the body brushing. So after a week or so try this.
Step 1: dry body brush.
Step 2: jump in the shower and use the plastic massager.
Step 3: pop out of the shower and quickly dry yourself.
Step 4: use an oil and massage into cellulite prone areas.
Step 5: (the secret!) go over those areas with a dry brush again.
Step 6: take a cold shower over those areas.
All done!
That’s it on cellulite! Never forget – you are fabulous – with or without those extra squidgey bits!
Enjoy!!
Love
