How To Do Natural Makeup
Hi Guys!!
As much as I love glamming up, I think it’s important to have a good natural makeup look.
A look you can wear to college, work, meetings & other day time activities but with good coverage & a healthy glow.
I prefer to opt for a natural makeup look for my daytime errands, meetings and yoga; something that doesn’t take longer than 10 minutes but looks presentable!!
I do care a lot about skin care so I try to use products that don’t damage my skin during the day or clog my pores.
Products:
Moisturiser:
I start by moisturising intensely with Clarins Multi Active Day Cream.
Foundation:
I then apply the Clarins Everlasting Foundation in Wheat 109. I love this foundation because it was created as a skincare product first, and then made into a foundation. So it soothes and protects the skin, but gives full coverage without feeling cakey. It lasts 18 hours and has a natural dewy glow. If you prefer matte, just use a powder on top to mattify.
Applicator:
I apply the foundation using a beauty blender; it’s my favourite way to apply foundation. Quick, easy and absorbs right into my skin.
Concealer:
I need concealer in my life as I have dark circles under my eyes. Genetics! I recently discovered the new Ultra HD Concealer in R20. I love its coverage and lasting effect. I apply it also using the beauty blender, but in a triangular shape under the eye. I just dab it until it absorbs and achieves the coverage I want.
Concealer Setting Powder:
When I am happy with the concealer, I lightly dust MAC Blanc Type Eyeshadow under my eye, on top of the concealer, to set it. I use the MAC 224SH Tapered Blending Brush to apply the powder. I find that this is the only powder that sets my concealer and brightens under my eye, and lasts all day. Yes, it is an eyeshadow, but boy does it work. I recommend this technique to anyone that has dark shadows under the eyes. I also use the eyeshadow on the top of my lids for a nice neutral look.
Brows & Eyeshadow:
Next, I fill in my eyebrows using the two dark brown shades on the right hand-side of the Sephora It Palette in Nude. I use the liner brush that comes with the palette to apply. I also use a couple of the light eyeshadows for the crease of my eyes and blend using the blending brush provided by the palette.
Blush:
For my natural makeup day look, I prefer to opt for blush as opposed to a bronzer. Keeps the cheeks rosy and lifted and avoids the cakiness and blotchiness of bronzer. I LOVE the Revlon Powder Blush in Haute Pink/Rose Classe.
Highlighter:
I recently came across the new Courreges makeup collection for Estee Lauder, omg!! I love the highlighter, it is perfect. I put it on the cheekbones, the nose, my chin, under the brow and Cupid’s bow (above the lips).
Mascara:
I am all about maximising lashes, lashes, lashes. I recently tried the new Benefit They’re Real! mascara and couldn’t believe the effect. It gives you full, long lashes that actually don’t clump or get messy. A must for day time beauty!! Highly recommend!
Lips:
Moisturised lips with colour is great for a natural look. Loving the new Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 5 Candy Shimmer, it’s like heaven on the lips. They have a variety of colours, but I liked the way this matched my cheeks and eyes. I liked it with Gosh Cosmetics Lip Liner in Antique Rose.
