
Paris Couture Week THE Dresses for Fall Winter 2016
Paris Couture Week has arrived! From the elegant to the artistic and futuristic here is our edit of both the most beautiful and the most creative pieces from the shows.
TIMELESS & ELEGANT COUTURE
Couturissimo launched Paris Couture Week with an elegant collection with embroidery, feathers and gorgeous crowns. Michael Cinco was one of the designers and his collection was elegant and intricate, the true embodiment of couture.
Alberta Ferretti had a divine collection with truly feminine pieces, adorned with gold and silver with tassels and sequins, reminding us of the golden era.
Guo Pei as always showed us real couture, with gold, embellishments, fabulous fabrics and dresses fit for queens.
Georges Hobeika is all about the delicate, feminine and show stopping couture. This season was no exception with real craftsmanship and detailing on the gorgeous gowns, a pair of “haute couture” sneakers and a truly delicate bride.
Ralph & Russo is a show we always look forward too, and this season had all the glamour and elegance we love from the brand. With little butterflies, gorgeous lace and a pink mink skirt – and not to mention a divine bride. A gorgeous collection.
Tony Ward used block colours across the spectrum – from electric blue to nude topped off with gorgeous details. He created a collection where every dress was more beautiful than the last.
Rami Al Ali had an elegant intricate collection for ladies everywhere.
Elie Saab made gorgeous dresses this season, with butterflies and intricate sequins and crystals on lace and tulle – as well as having an adorable twist this season, with Couture for Mothers & Daughters.
Zuhair Murad had a truly wonderful collection. From the Cowgirl hats to the block colours and gorgeous lace – this was one of our favourite shows of the season.
Valentino had a show fit for Game of Thrones inspired by days gone by. With high necks, solid colours and tudor inspired accessories.
BOLD & MODERN COUTURE
Versace had a gorgeous collection, with bold lines, strong silhouettes and block colours. We can’t wait to see these looks on the red carpet at award season.
Schiaparelli had a modern fun collection with fun pops of colours, gorgeous embroidery work brings out peacocks and art deco faces and layers of great fabrics.
Giambattista Valli had a collection full of mini dresses, gorgeous coats and lots and lots of tulle!
Chanel showed a collection full of tweed, pouf and fabulous perm updos!
Georges Chakra created a collection that you want to wear all the time! From funky cocktail dresses to great gowns all with avant grade detailing and a truly artistic mixture of textures.
Giorgio Armani Prive always has wonderful collections with clothes that stand the test of time. This season was no exception with luscious velvets, gorgeous silks, polka dots and cheques and wonderful fur – oh and just the right amount of skin!
Alexandre Vauthier had an edgy and truly sexy show – with army greens, huge bows and a touch of tulle.
Jean Paul Gaultier saw the sun come out – with fabulous adornments on models heads. This was a super cool and slick show.
CREATIVE & FUTURISTIC COUTURE
Yuima Nakazato pushed the boundaries with holographic fabrics and embellishments. This was a creative collection with magic within.
Francesco Sognamiglio had an extravagant show with gorgeous fabrics, fabulous collar details and simply divine dresses.
Iris Van Herpen had an exquisite show inspired by jelly fish, with soft yet structured curves and some wondrous shoes!
Serkan Cura showed extravagance at his show, with bellboy inspired hats and feathers galore!
MENSWEAR
Now for the boys!
Brioni had a slick collection, with sharp suits and gorgeous fur as well as some amazing suits for ladies. We love this trend!
