Visiting Rasasi – Luxury Arabic Perfumes
I visited one of Rasasi’s many branches in Dubai, and was greeted by their leading expert. He kindly introduced me to Rasasi’s latest oud, perfumes and bukhoor collections.
I typically wear 4 different perfumes at the same time every day, that is my signature. People always ask me what perfume I am wearing, and I usually reply with, ‘well there are 4!’ It consists of a mixture between western perfumes and Arabian Oud. Your scent should be true to who you are, and reflect your personality as ‘smell’ is one of the strongest of the five senses, and leaves a lasting impression.
I heard about Rasasi’s new Boruzz collection, which is Rasasi’s answer to majestic luxury fragrance. A full two years were invested in developing the 5 different prestigious Perfume/Oud mixes, and you can tell by just looking at them. The five perfumes are impressively packaged in modern but glamorous glass and rose gold bottles.
From the five perfumes, the first three, are contemporary variants of Oudh which are Rooh Al Assam, Asrar Indonesia and Abeer Malaysia, while the last two are variants of musk – Jazeebiyat Musk Tabriz and Lamaat Musk Tabriz.
After trying them all out, I found that my favourite was the new Jazeebiyat Musk Tabriz, wowwww!! Love love love! It is sweet and has my two favourite scents, Rose and musk. The perfume is pretty potent, so you only need one spray, two if you are being generous. With western perfumes, I usually spritz about 6 times, so you do the math!
I have worn it everyday for the last 5 weeks, including on my trips to London and Serbia. I was stopped several times and asked what perfume was I wearing. I could see the confusion in their eyes, because it wasn’t like anything anyone had smelt before. Hahaha!
How do you know which fragrance is for you? The best way is to go into a Rasasi store (which are in almost every mall, click here for store locator) and try them on your skin. Oudh Al Boruzz
Rooh Al Assam – The Soul of Assam: Inspired by a fragrant journey through ancient Assam.
- Top notes of Persian saffron and Indian roses.
- Heart notes of leather, Spanish labdanum and Indian Oudh.
- Base notes of Indian nagarmotha, sandalwood and Oudh.
Abeer Malaysia – Breeze Of Malaysia
- Top notes of pepper, Indonesian nutmeg and violet leaves.
- Heart notes of leather, tobacco, dried fruits and Malaysian Oudh.
- Base notes of Haitian vetiver, patchouli and Indian Oudh
Asrar Indonesia – Secret of Indonesia
- Top notes of Italian Bergamot, grapefruit and ginger.
- Heart notes of orris, cedarwood, vetiver, Indonesian oudh
- Base notes of amber, musk, tea and Indian oudh
Attar Al Boruzz
Jazeebiyat Musk Tabriz – Inspired by Golestan Park, an historical park in Tabriz
- Top notes of lemon, Italian mandarin and French cassis.
- Heart notes of Indian tuberose, Indian rose, Tuscan orris and Tunisian orange blossom.
- Base notes of amber, musk, Madagascan vanilla and Indian Oudh.
Lamaat Musk Tabriz – An expression of timeless allure
- Top notes of Sicilian blood orange, Calabrian bergamot and Brazilian pink pepper.
- Heart notes of passion fruit, Texan white cedarwood and Indian rose.
- Base notes of amber, musk, Madagascan vanilla, Indian sandalwood and Indian oudh.
You will find, that most of the perfumes are unisex, but my favourite was the feminine choice, Jazeebiyat Musk Tabriz. I noticed my taste in scents lean towards musk fragrances, in both western and eastern perfumes. My second favourite was the Rooh Al Assam, because of its strong oud presence, a sensuous addition for evenings.
While I was in the store, I also tried Rasasi‘s premium Oud collection for burning in the house on charcoal. It is a tradition in my family to burn Oud and bukhoor in the home everyday, making scent and quality fragrances an important aspect of daily life.

In conclusion, the high quality of the fragrances did impress me; the Boruzz perfumes are derived from oils, which means they are pure and long lasting, untypical of perfumes nowadays. A lot of international brands dilute their fragrances with alcohol and water, resulting in getting less perfume for your money and paying for water and alcohol instead. That’s why I personally prefer and recommend purchasing perfumes with high perfume and oil content, even if they are a bit expensive, they last double. In 5 weeks I have used Jazeebiyat Musk Tabriz every day, and I am still not past 30% of the bottle, normally I go through a bottle of perfume a month.
