White House Correspondents’ Dinner Red Carpet 2016
Last night was the US President Barack Obama’s final White House Correspondent’s Dinner in Washington DC. This dinner brings together to worlds of politics, journalism and celebrity. Both the President and First Lady Michelle Obama lit up the evening to perfection. They looked perfect, with Michelle Obama stealing the spotlight in her gold Givenchy Dress.
The red carpet saw the likes of Emma Watson, Hellen Mirren, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith, Jared Leto, DJ Khaled and Arianna Huffington, Kendall Jenner and the cast of Scandal, feeling right at home at the White House! Our favourite red carpet looks are below.
The true star of the evening was of course the President himself and his great comedy. He made jokes about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, with Trump’s children in the audience. As this was his final White House Correspondent’s Dinner he said “But standing here, I can’t help but be reflective and a little sentimental.” The best part came when he ended with, “I have just two more words to say: Obama out,” and literally dropped the mic.
